Sports Cards
A trading card collection, specifically a sports card collection, is a great way to transition the experience of a ball game to the home. For me it was the perfect indoor pass time on rainy days. In our house, we spent time organizing our collection by year, the company that made them, and then in numerical order. Then making a list of which ones we were missing, and planning on how to trade our duplicates for one to finish off our sets. This not only taught us organization, but gave my bother and I time to spend with our father. The times we spent “working” on our card collection often turned into a life lesson or a math lesson from my parents. I truly credit sports card with not only helping me learn math, but thrive in it. My father taught me at an early age how to figure the key baseball statistics such as Batting Average, Earn Run Average, Slugging Percentage, and several others.
Wax Packs, Boxes & Single Cards
My passion never let up since the first card that I bought (okay my dad bought it, but I picked it out), 1966 Topps Pete Rose. I love the hobby and I love the feeling of finishing off that tough set or getting that great pull out of a pack. Here at On the Ball Sports, we carry a full line of wax packs and boxes of current products in baseball and football. We also carry some basketball packs and boxes. In addition to wax, On the Ball Sports also has over 200,000 single cards sorted by sport, year, company (ie. Topps, Donruss, Upper Deck, Fleer, Playoff), and numerical order for the set builders. Just email or fax us a list and we will let you know which ones we have and the price. We also have roughly 125 complete sets to choose from. These sets range from 1968 Topps Game insert set to 2006 Topps factory sets, and hundreds in between.
